The United States Department of Energy awarded Triton Anchor the contract to develop a new anchoring technology that will reduce fabrication and installation costs of offshore wind farms and provide permitting benefits over current market solutions.

Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC)
MassCEC selected to support the development of Triton’s Anchor platform. The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) is a state economic development agency dedicated to accelerating the growth of the clean energy sector across the Commonwealth to spur job creation, deliver statewide environmental benefits and to secure long-term economic growth for the people of Massachusetts.

National Offshore Wind Research
and Development Consortium (NOWRDC)
NOWRDC awarded Triton Anchor additional support to advance the development of Triton's wind anchor. The National Offshore Wind Research and Development Consortium was established in 2018 when the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) was awarded $18.5 million from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to administer a public-private partnership focused on advancing offshore wind technology in the United States. NYSERDA contributed matching funds. The Consortium, a not-for-profit organization, supports the cost-effective and responsible development of offshore wind to maximize the economic benefits to the United States. The Commonwealths of Virginia and Massachusetts and the States of Maine and Maryland also contribute to the Consortium’s funding.

Testing & Expertise for Marine Energy (TEAMER™)
TEAMER awarded Triton Anchor access to pursue anchor testing in clay-based soils. The Testing Expertise and Access for Marine Energy Research program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and directed by the Pacific Ocean Energy Trust (POET) accelerates the viability of marine renewables by providing access to the nation’s best facilities and expertise in order to solve challenges, build knowledge, foster innovation and drive commercialization. Through this funding and support, Texas A&M University (TAMU) and the Offshore Technology Research Center (OTRC) are providing geotechnical numerical modeling and analysis of Triton’s anchor in cohesive soils.

Rice Alliance Clean Energy Accelerator
Rice supports the success of emerging, tech-enabled ventures who are advancing decarbonization solutions and efficiency strategies that accelerate the transition to a clean energy economy. Rice Alliance accepted Triton Anchor into their accelerator as they are driving innovation in a multitude of fields, including Wave Energy and Wind Energy.

Ocean Energy Safety Institute (OESI)
The Ocean Energy Safety Institute (OESI) aims to join government, academia, industry and scientific stakeholders for collaborative research using shared learning and dialogue. In efforts to improve safety and environmental sustainability of Wind Energy development through enhanced site condition understanding, OESI is supporting Triton Anchor’s efforts to conduct a seismic soil investigation and improve dynamic soil-structure behavior modeling.

Offshore Wind Innovation Hub (OWIH)
We leverage our New York City hub to grow the US offshore wind industry by harnessing the entrepreneurial powers of both global industry-leading startups and the local community. The Offshore Wind Innovation Hub is an initiative, led by Equinor, in collaboration with Urban Future Lab at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, and National Offshore Wind R&D Consortium - supported by New York City Economic Development Corporation.

Triton Systems
Triton Systems provides solutions for challenging problems faced by the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, National Institute of Health, and commercial firms, working with them to transition ideas into highly effective commercial solutions. Triton has an extensive track record of transitioning technology into successful products and businesses via licensing, joint ventures, and spinoff companies. Over the past decade, Triton has spun out more than a dozen companies, several going public, demonstrating the value the company brings to federal research, while also creating more than $4B in value for investors. A few of Triton’s successful spinouts include Aduro Biotech (aduro.com), FRX Polymers (frxpolymers.com), Fluence (fluencecorp.com), and Sensera (sensera.com). Triton is recognized for SBIR commercialization leadership having been selected, in 2017, for the prestigious Tibbets award by the Small Business Administration. Awardees are chosen based on long-term socio-economic impact, diversity, and successful commercial transition of federally sponsored research. Triton Anchor is a spin-off of Triton Systems.
